DIPLOMA OF MONTESSORI EDUCATION
The Diploma of Montessori Education provides a comprehensive and detailed study of the theory and skills involved in the delivery of a Montessori education program for children aged 0-6 years. This course is currently in the process of being accredited.
This program is delivered part-time over a period of 1 – 2 years.
Students attend a two-hour ‘theory’ tutorial once a month and a six hour ‘materials’ workshop once a month. They also spend 60 hours working in a Montessori classroom.
METHODS OF STUDY
The majority of our lessons are conducted in the classroom and Early Childhood environments. We give all students a set of learning guides and books. Also, each student has their own personal portal where they can download and receive their assessments. Tutors are available via the phone, email, or face to face during classes. This ensures that students have full the support of the college.
There are no academic pre-requisites. However, we require students to take a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test at time of enrolment. We use these test results to ensure our students are proficient in English.
There are many, including working in the Early Childhood Education industry within a Montessori-based service, as an Assistant Group Leader/Teacher or Director, in the Family Day Care industry as a provider, within a Montessori school setting as a teacher aide or in conjunction with teaching qualifications, as a teacher.
Further education can be in the form of further courses, attending exhibitions, or specialised in-service training in the areas of Early Education and Montessori. We offer all candidates advice on their employment options.
